Roadtrip - Day 43; Career Intersection - Day 60

Mornings are so beautiful and peaceful here.

We are coming to the last few days here -- Hutch is off to garage sales (one of his favorite things). The number of "finds" that he has discovered will fill all those empty spaces in the SUV for the ride back.

Tuesday night was another big BMX win -- Hutch got a chance to hold the trophy.

Contract is moving forward for the consulting business. Still no job offers.

Roadtrip - Day 42; Career Intersection - Day 59

The day is getting closer - the day we have to leave Michigan and head back to Arizona :(

The car has decided it does not want to make the trip - first a blown intake manifold gasket and a transmission bushing - now a complete intake manifold -- YIKES

Hutch was trying his hand at the repairs before we had to go to a professional -- but no luck.

The final interview in Cincinnati was very good -- offer should be coming soon. The consulting business got its first contract -- Yeah!

Roadtrip - Day 37 ; Career Intersection - Day 54

Lots going on today -- went to several garage sales and visiting different people.

Hutch helped out Great-Grandma today with her house and her puzzle.

Hutch got to visit Grandma's country school building today.

On the job front -- a trip to Cincinnati is on the agenda for Monday to hopefully seal the deal!

Roadtrip - Day 34 - Career Intersection - Day 51

The weather has been so strange. One day it is in the 50's and the next in the 80's. The rain has been constant but soft. Sitting outside or inside and listening to hit hit the leaves on the trees, the sound is so soothing. I know now why those white noise/soothing sound machines have a rain option.

The Amish just baled their hay - the old fashion stacks are so foreign to those that have not been around their lifestyle. Hutch is making a trip out there soon to take pictures.

More flowers blooming. The colors are so vivid and bright from the grass to the trees to the gardens to the farmer's fields to the blooming flowers. The sunrises are so beautiful too, could not get Hutch up to see it though :( The sunsets are still so late in the evening due to the placement of Michigan in the Eastern time zone. Missing the stars most nights because it is past Hutch's bedtime.

Think I am very close to an offer from two companies and very close to some contracts for the consulting business.

Roadtrip - Day 29; Career Intersection - Day 46

Well it has been quite a week, contract jobs might be coming in quickly -- close to an offer somewhere else. When it rains it pours! Although I would like to be looking at this as a glass half full opportunity, nothing is concrete yet.

Another beautiful day in Michigan. The winds were a little strong, but all and all -- a great day. Everyone went fishing today and the catch was so-so, but the company was great - 4 generations fishing together.

While Grandma was checking the apple trees around the pond, a baby raccoon wandered out from the woods. She saw him, he saw her and up the tree he shot! His mother taught him well.

The grass/hay needs to get mowed on the property but the pond is looking good.

We are supposed to get a Canadian cold front come through tomorrow -- brrrrr....

Roadtrip-Day 28; Career Intersection - Day 45

Hey all! Another BEAUTIFUL day in Michigan. Got to be about 80 today.

Last night was so still, windows open -- I listened to the water running through the river throughout the night. The sound was so soothing, it is unfortunate that we replicate this with white noise machines - we need to experience it in real life.

Headed to the river beach today to play a little in the sand and the water.

Hutch helped Grandma & Grandpa with the lawn.

And he helped a little with the garden, but spent more time taking it all in :)
Couple more interviews coming up this week -- good news I hope.
Expecting rain tomorrow...we will see what the morning brings.

Roadtrip-Day 27, Career Intersection - Day 44

Another beautiful day in Michigan. We wondered as the temp plunged to the low 40's overnight. Made a great sleep night with the windows open. Hard to believe being from Phoenix that you have to worry about frost in the middle of July in other parts of our country.

Went to the local drug store to get my passport picture taken to renew my passport (anticipating one of those job opportunities would want a current passport). I was their first customer asking for this EVER. After 8 attempts, I don't know if we have the right size and angle yet. Gotta love small towns!

I forgot to write about my niece's appearance in the Community play -- Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Coat. She was AMAZING! Way to go Hannah!

My niece, Shea, got her senior picture proofs -- OMG, BEAUTIFUL!

Hutch has been playing non-stop outside, cause -- he can! He has been hanging out in the sandbox and helping Grandma with the laundry. And here, we are green -- we hang our laundry for drying instead of using the energy of a dryer. Plus the clothes smell sooooo much better!

Roadtrip & Career Intersection - Days - Who Knows!

Well all it has been awhile since I have written. The roadtrip continues and has many fun adventures!

Sidewalk sale days and Independence Day festivities! Fireworks were AWESOME!

The days are so nice here, 70's and sunny. The nights are cool -- all the windows open - all the time! That's right for everyone that lives in the cities, doors left unlocked, all windows left open and keys left in ignitions. You wake every morning to the sound of the birds singing outside and an occasional squirrel chatter. You go to sleep hearing the faint sound of the Amish carriages with the hoofs of the horses hitting the blacktop road with a very deliberate cadence - they are headed home from courtin'. They are usually in bed at sundown except for those few that are out with their intended. And of course, a big Midwestern breakfast on the stove!

The flowers in full bloom!

Job search is still going :( Lots of interviews, but companies are being very picky and cautious -- 6 or 7 interviews before they will consider putting an offer in front of you.

Consulting company has been formed and am close to my first contract.

Hutch has been having a ball. The fish have been biting, the swimming holes are just right and the summer days have been lending themselves to nothing but a huge forum for play :) Hutch even took a stab at the parade on a bike.
